Winter 2018 Class Schedule

Stop by our studio or call to enroll. Class size is limited to 8 students age 18 or older.

Each 8 week class meets for 2 hours, once a week.

Classes are $125 and include 8 weeks of instruction, 25 lbs. of clay, and all glazing and firing costs.

Students are encouraged and welcome to practice outside of class time during open studio hours.


MONDAY

January 8th - February 26th

WHEEL THROWING:  All Levels - 6p-8p

Learn or review the basics of working on the potter's wheel and improve your skills; including centering, trimming, basic shapes, handles, glazing, vases, pitchers, lids, and closed forms.


TUESDAY

January 9th - February 27th

** Daytime Class **

HANDBUILDING:  All Levels - 12p-2p

Learn or review the fundamentals of handbuilding, including pinch, coil, slab and extrusion.  Surface texture, decoration, wedging and glazing are also presented. Make a project each class, bring your ideas to discuss.


WEDNESDAY

January 10th - February 28th

WHEEL THROWING:  All Levels - 6p-8p

Learn or review the basics of working on the potter's wheel and improve your skills; including centering, trimming, basic shapes, handles, glazing, vases, pitchers, lids, and closed forms.




THURSDAY

January 11th - March 1st

HANDBUILDING & SCULPTURE:  All Levels - 6p-8p

Explore the use of 'Mixed Media' in your finished pieces.  Learn or review the fundamentals of handbuilding, including pinch, coil, slab and extrusion. Surface texture, decoration, wedging and glazing are also presented.  Explore methods of making both functional and sculptural forms with emphasis on organic, geometric, abstract and lifelike forms and figures. Bring your ideas to class.

Learn the basics of working on the potter's wheel including centering, trimming, basic shapes and glazing.




SATURDAY

January 13th - March 3rd

Explore 'Forms of the Figure' in your work. Learn or review the fundamentals of handbuilding, including pinch, coil, slab and extrusion. Surface texture, decoration, wedging and glazing are also presented.  Explore methods of making both functional and sculptural forms with emphasis on organic, geometric, abstract and lifelike forms and figures. Bring your ideas to class.
